Obituary
Mr. Minerva died Sunday afternoon in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Boston and raised in Sharon and has been a resident of Brockton 38 years. He was the son of the late Michael and Kathleen (Coffey) Minerva.
Michael was an Oil Burner Serviceman for the former Automatic Heating Company later purchased by the Home Heating Oil Division of Texaco Corporation located in South Boston for 39 years, retiring 18 years ago.
He was a depression kid who joined the Navy during WWII and was a member of the Seabees. He was a proud, patriotic American who often believed that War was not always the answer and preferred a more diplomatic solution to our world problems. Michael was a collector of a variety of antiques, he enjoyed playing guitar and listening to the likes of Les Paul, Big Band and Country music. But most of all he loved to all kinds of dancing and his dog Sam who could be seen with him everywhere. He will be remembered and missed for his love of life, his social, outrageous, generous, wonderful and opinionated nature. He will be missed for unselfishly giving of himself in works of charity.
