Obituary

Methuen, MA – Jeannette E. (Gingras) Hayes died Monday June 25, 2007 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital.

Born in Lawrence on June 10, 1917, to the late Hippolyte (Paul) and Elise (Hamel) Gingras, she was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and worked at the Andover Companies as a data processor for many years. Jeannette enjoyed playing cards at the North Andover Senior Center and loved to crochet. She donated lap robes to the Nevins Home each year and to the Methuen Festival of Trees auction.

She was the widow of Lawrence Deputy Fire Chief John F. Hayes, who died in 1994. She leaves a daughter, Eileen J. of Methuen with whom she made her home, a son, John M. of Lawrence and a daughter Phyllis M. White of Herndon, VA. She also leaves a grandson, Michael J. White of Herndon.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/ St. Augustines Chapel Tower Hill.

She was predeceased by sisters, Yvonne Coulombe, Cecile Kettinger, and Rita Gingras and brothers, Robert, Raymond (Pete), Leo, and Richard Gingras and son-in-law, Colonel Victor J.White and granddaughter, Elise M. White. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Marcelle Gingras and was the loving aunt of several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will take place on Friday morning at 10 o’clock in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/Saint Augustines Chapel on Ames Street in Lawrence with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.

Friends may call on Thursday from 2-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
