Obituary

EDNA M. (THOMPSON) MACLEOD, a Hull resident for over 60 years, died on Tuesday, June 26th at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 89. Mrs. MacLeod was born and educated in Rockland. She then lived in Scituate and Marshfield before coming to Hull. In her early life she was a waitress at the former Shirley's Restaurant in Hull, then a telephone operator for New England Telephone and most recently was a teller at the Hull Branch of the Rockland Trust Co., a position she held for over 20 years. She was a loyal Red Sox fan, enjoyed knitting and was an avid Bingo player.

Wife of the late Stanley MacLeod, she leaves her two sons; John A. MacLeod and Richard T. MacLeod both of Hull; a sister, Virginia McCormack of Maine; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late James E. Thompson.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Thursday from 4-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

The funeral services and interment are to be private.
