Leslie Blair Whitley, 16, of Ocilla, died Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Irwin County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, June 28, at the Ocilla Church Of God, with Rev. Jim Britt and Rev. Jamie Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Leslie was born December 14, 1990 in Tifton, Georgia, to Dennis H. Whitley and Donna Winter Heller. She lived in Tift County and Irwin County all of her life. Leslie was a student at Irwin County High School, where she was a former member of the Drill Team and a former member of the TSA and the FFA, where she showed livestock in the state and local livestock shows. She was a member of the Irwin County High School Soccer Team and the Irwin County Recreational department Soccer team. Leslie was an active dancer with Rhythm Nation Dance Studio in Fitzgerald and loved to fish. She grew up attending Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her father, Dennis H. Whitey of Ocilla; mother & stepfather, Donna W. & Jeff Heller of Tifton; sister, Lindsey D. Whitley of Ocilla; stepbrother and stepsister, Matthew Heller and Ansley Heller, both of Tifton; grandparents, Betty Whitley of Ocilla & Leola & Sam Hilton of Tifton; step-grandparents, Jerry & Irene Heller of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Forrest Whitley
