Obituary

Methuen, MA – John J. “Jack” Donohue, 74, died Monday June 25, 2007 at the family residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lawrence, Jack was a 1952 graduate of Lawrence High School and attended Suffolk University. For many years he was a friendly face to just about everyone as a letter carrier in Lawrence, and Methuen. John was a local union president with the postal carriers.
Mr. Donohue was a communicant of Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen and was the basketball coach for their CYO. In high school he was the captain of the basketball team.

During the Korean War Jack served his country in the United States Coast Guard prior to being honorably discharged at wars end.

During the summers he enjoyed spending great times with his family at Winnisquam Lake in New Hampshire. Also playing 45’s, and watching his grandchildren participate in various sporting events.

A longtime Lawrence and Methuen resident, John was the widower of Marilyn E. (Brennan) Donohue, and is survived by children: Michael & his wife Susan of Salem, NH, Maryellen Drew of Methuen, Patricia & husband Kurt Wood, of Methuen & Shaun & wife Dina of Meredith, NH, Kevin & girl friend Erika Panto of Derry NH, 2 brothers; Donald of Lawrence, and William “Bill” Donohue of Andover, a sister Janice Mallette of Lawrence, 8 grandchildren Kayla, Jared, Kegan, Haley, Jordan, Meghan, Brenna & Heather.

A funeral mass will take place on Friday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street of Methuen.
