Obituary

Worcester- Ida M. (Prunier) Plante Thibert, 100, formerly of 506 Massasoit Road and 101 Plantation Street, died Friday, Nov. 29, in Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Webster.

Her husband, Paul D. Thibert, died in 1976. Her first husband, Oliver N. Plante, died in 1948. She leaves a son, Oliver A. Plante; a daughter, Elaine A. Gendron, both of Worcester; a step-daughter, Laurina Hungate of Ocean Shores, Washington; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. A son, Paul C. Plante, died in 2000. Two brothers, Alfred and Arthur Prunier, and three sisters, Josephine Richard, Cecile Thacker, and Rose A. Duquette predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Alfred and Roseanna (Benoiot) Prunier and lived here many years, before moving to Springfield, where she lived for 25 years, before returning here in 1976.

Mrs. Thibert was a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Parish, Worcester, and Holy Name Catholic Parish, Springfield. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Womens Club, Springfield, the Tuesday Luncheon Club and the Child of Mary, both in Worcester.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, from Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home (www.worcesterfuneral.com), 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Patient Activities Fund, 11 Pontiac Avenue, Webster, MA 01570.
