Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8pm. Michael Principe, (Ret BFD), 91 years died Saturday morning doing what he loved best, gardening. Born in Brockton, son of the late Pietro and Relina (Giudice) Principe, he was a 1933 graduate of Brockton High School and had been a lifelong resident. Michael proudly served the City of Brockton as a firefighter for many years, retiring as a Captain.
He enjoyed gardening and giving his vegetables to neighbors and friends and cooking. He was also a Mr. Fix-it and was a lifetime communicant of St. Colman Church.
He is survived by one son Paul M. Principe of Watkinsville, GA, one daughter Betty Smith of Herndon, VA, two grandsons Nathan and Andy Smith, one brother Dominic Principe of Jupiter, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Vass) Principe and brother of the late Marie Principe, Louis Principe, Nancy Kelleher, Joseph Principe and Regina Brognoli.
