Obituary

Loretta Lucy (Yanuzzi) Duffy of Manchester died peacefully at her home on June 23, 2007 surrounded by her family.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of John and Palma (Cordasco) Yanuzzi.
She graduated with a degree in nursing from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA. As a registered nurse, she cared for patients suffering from polio at Philadelphia area hospitals. While in nursing school she met her husband, the late John Michael Duffy, MD.
Mrs. Duffy was active with the New Hampshire Catholic Nurses Association and its scholarship committee for prospective nurses. She was a founding member of the Manchester Garden Club and was active with the Girls Club. She volunteered with the American Red Cross and the Visiting Nurses Association.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening and golfing.
IN HER LIFE: She was best known for her outstanding cooking and her artistic talent as a painter. She studied oil painting for many years under the tutelage of Sr. Eva Ledoux of the Sisters of Holy Cross in Manchester. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
The family includes four daughters, Loretta A. Duffy of La Quinta, CA, Kathleen Duffy of Manchester, Patricia Duffy of Tulsa, OK and Shaunna Duffy Smith and her husband, William of Merrimack; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a sister, Dominica “Minnie” Swartz of Manchester.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday June 26, 2007 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
