LOWELL—Aubrey L. ‘Monty’ Gibson, II, 63 years old, a resident of Lowell for the past 25 years, died Saturday afternoon, June 23rd at Saints Medical Center. He was the husband of Barbara (LaDuke) Gibson, with whom he celebrated 28 years of marriage this year.
He was born in Charlottesville, VA, on July 13, 1943, a
son of the late Aubrey L. and Janet (Perry) Gibson, and was a graduate of the Charlottesville Public School System.
Mr. Gibson served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne. For many years he collected and traded stamps and coins, and for the past ten years, he owned and operated Tewksbury Stamp and Coin. He was the current president of the Tewksbury Lions Club.
Surviving him besides his wife are his mother-in-law: Barbara Ortolani, of Lowell; three brothers-in-law: Christopher, and his wife Ellen Ortolani, of Billerica; Anthony, and his wife Michelle Ortolani, of Jacksonville, FL; and Keith Ortolani, of Billerica; sisters-in-law: Cynthia and her husband Leonard Spinney, of Lowell; and LouAnn Diamond and David Diamond, of Chelmsford; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Monday, June 25th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. A funeral service will be held Tuesday June 26th at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
