Obituary

Michael DiFranza, age 85 of Lexington, formerly of Medford died Saturday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, after a brief illness. Born in Chelsea, MA, he was the son of the late Gabriel and Julia (Colmayer) DiFranza. He served in the US Army during World War II, and was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal.

He was a Meat Packer, employed by the Armour Co., of South Boston, MA, retiring in 1976, after 36 years of service. Mr. DiFranza was a Medford resident for over 45 years.

He is survived by wife: Margaret (Miraglia) DiFranza Lexington, MAson: Gabriel DiFranza Medford, MAdaughter: Joanne DiFranza Medford, MAdaughter: Maria Gore Wilmington, MAgrandson: Michael Gore Wilmington, MAgrandson: Joseph Gore Wilmington, MApredeceased brother: Robert DiFranza

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford/Somerville at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 7. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
