Danny Howard Sumner, 59, of Lenox died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Dillard Ensley will officiate with burial to follow in Staunton Cemetery in Lenox. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lane, Ray Cannington, Tommy Daughtry, Christopher Kalenian, Wesley Sumner and Ronnie Braswell. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Sumner was born on July 22, 1947 in Tift County and was the son of Howard Sumner and Betty Jean Rutland Sumner of Lenox. He was a farmer and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He was also a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sumner is survived by his wife, Sandra Braswell Sumner of Lenox; one son, Ty Sumner of Lenox; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Brad Roe of Hahira; two brothers, Dale Sumner of Jennings, Florida and David Sumner of Lenox; and two sisters, Donna Palmer of Lenox and Debi Shell of Lenox.
