Obituary

John E. Lafreniere, 65, of Rochester died June 20, 2007 at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston after a long illness. He was the husband of Veronica F. (Oliveira) Lafreniere.
Born in Putman, CT, the son of the late Edmund and Diana (Bouley) Lafreniere, he lived in Rochester most of his life.
Mr. Lafreniere was a communicant and active member of St. John Neumann Church in East Freetown. He was the recipient of the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River for his years of service to his parish.
He was a co-founder and executive vice president of Aquapoint, Inc. in New Bedford and served as chairman of the Rochester Board of Health for 18 years.
Mr. Lafreniere was a member of the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Todd Lafreniere, and his wife Karen, of Acushnet and Peter Lafreniere, and his wife Pamela, of Mattapoisett; a brother, Edmund Lafreniere, Jr., and his wife Lucille, of Danielson, CT; his mother-in-law, Eva (Rogers) Oliveira of Dartmouth; four grandchildren, Jared, Mark, Thomas and Hannah Lafreniere; and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in St. John Neumann Church. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd.
