Obituary

William P. Lundrigan, 76, of Dartmouth died unexpectedly June 19, 2007. He was the husband of the late Lorraine R. (Davignon) Lundrigan and Dolores Z. (Brasells) Piva - Lundrigan.
Born in New London, CT, the son of the late William J. and Kathleen M. (Keough) Lundrigan, he lived in New Bedford most of his life before moving to Dartmouth 20 years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Mr. Lundrigan was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman for many years. He later was a business agent for the New Bedford Fishermen's Union, a fishing representative for the Teamsters Union Local 59, and the auctioneer at the New Bedford Seafood Auction.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard as boatswain's mate aboard the training barque Eagle. Mr. Lundrigan was a member of the New Bedford Fishermen's Union, New Bedford Fishermen's Retirees, the Sixth Bristol Club, and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to shows and dinner, and playing cards at the Dartmouth Senior Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene L. Lamontagne, and her husband Donald, of New Bedford and Christine M. Samia of Cypress, TX; a brother, David Lundrigan of Florida; his special friend, Hilda Alves of Dartmouth; seven grandchildren, Devan Lamontagne, Neil Lamontagne, Andrew Samia, Aaron Samia, Alex Samia, Shannon Samia, and Adam Samia.
He was the brother of the late Maureen Kovic and Patricia Maury.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23rd at 9 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, June 22nd from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 4021, New Bedford, MA 02740 or the charity of one's choice.
