Grace Catherwood
...made fishing tackle
TEWKSBURY- H. Grace Catherwood, age 82, died early Tuesday morning, June 19 after a
battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of William W. “Bill” Catherwood Sr. with whom
she would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this August.
Grace was born on August 18, 1924 a daughter of Edward C. and M. Elizabeth (Cahill)
MacArthur. She was raised in Lowell and graduated Lowell High. She graduated with a business
degree in Accounting from Lowell Business College. Grace worked with her husband at Bill and
Grace Tackle making salt water fishing tackle. She enjoyed Irish and Scottish music, gardening,
cooking, and crocheting. Caring for her family was by far her greatest joy.
Besides her husband she is survived by three children; Robert E. and his wife Ruth
(Douglass) Catherwood of Gloucester, William W. Jr. and his wife Catherine (Keith) Catherwood
of Tewksbury, Alice E. and her husband Harry D. Merchant of Maine. A sister and brother in law
Eleanor (MacArthur) and her husband Ernest “Andy” Anderson., A niece Elizabeth Ann and her
husband Nicholas V. Melanchook. A great nephew Nicholas Melanchook of Saugus. A
daughter in law Nancy Catherwood of Billerica. Six grandchildren Faith E. (Catherwood)and her
husband James Stevens of Billerica, Robert B. Catherwood and his dear friend Nicole Cataldo of
Lawrence, Patrick E. Catherwood of Maine, and Sarah E. Merchant of Maine, Melanie E.
Catherwood of Billerica, and William R. Catherwood of Tewksbury. Two great grandchildren
Derek and Ryan Stevens of Billerica. She is also survived by a beloved friend Rob Roy
MacArthur.



A memorial service at Lawrence Street P.M. Church will be celebrated at a later date. Memorial
