Chester M. Ryan, Jr., 64, of Pelham, NH died June 18, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Boston, MA on November 10, 1942, a son of the late Chester M. and Patricia (Casey) Ryan, Sr., Raised in Somerville, MA, he served in the National Guard during the early 1960’s. He was employed for more than 30 years by the Brockway-Smith Company of Andover. MA. Following his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling to many states across the country before moving to Pelham a month ago. Chet was a former coach in the Lawrence, MA Little League for several years. He held membership in the Yankee Dart Association of Lawrence, the VFW Post #1088 of Kingston, NH and the Teamsters Local #379. He was known as an avid fan of both the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots and he always loved to fish, cook and be a part of the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Gail A. (Waites) Ryan of Pelham; a daughter, Rachel Ryan-Tomarchio of Lawrence, MA; four sons, Chet M. Ryan III and Shawn Ryan, both of Derry, NH, Donald Ryan of Port Charlotte, FL and Kevin Ryan of Seabrook, NH; three step-children, Bill Gibson, Marie Gibson and Michelle Apitz, all of Haverhill, MA; 18 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Griffin of Everett, MA and Diane Beaulieu of Chelmsford, MA; a brother, Steven Ryan of Chelmsford; and also by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his former wife, Donna Ryan of Lawrence.
Calling hours were on Thursday, June 21st from 4 to 7 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral ceremony was held at 7 PM in the funeral home. Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Rt. 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
