Michele A. “Mike” Magaletta, 83 of Somerville, died Sunday after a long illness in the Presentation Manor, Boston, MA.
Born in Boston, he lived in Somerville for many years and was formerly of East Boston. Mike was the son of the late Rosina (Bucci) and Albert Y. Magaletta. He was a Sign Painter with the MDC Art Department for 38 years and retired in 1955. Mike served during World War II in the U.S. Army as a Corporal from 1942 to 1945. He was a Gun Crewman of the Light Artillery serving with General Patton. Mike received the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf cluster. He was in the battles of Tunisia, Naples Foggia, Rome Arno, North Apennines and Po Valley.
Beloved husband of Jean Magaletta. Brother of the late John and Louise Magaletta.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 9:30 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8.
Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum, Everett.
As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be sent in Michele’s name to a Charity of Ones´ Choice.
