MANCHESTER:Edward J. Montplaisir Sr., 93, died June 17, 2007 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home after along illness.
He was born in Manchester on September 10, 1913 the son of John B. And Josephine (Tardiff) Montplaisir and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
He attended local schools and was a graduate of St. Anselm College class of 1935 and was a Golden Anselmian. Prior to his retirement he worked for Metropolitan Insurance for 35 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Louise Marguerite (Messier) Montplaisir in 1988 and a daughter Therese Wright in 2002.
Members of his family include 3 sons Edward J. Montplaisir, Jr. of Bedford, Paul Montplaisir of Hawaii and Pierre Montplaisir of Manchester. 2 daughters, Cecile Goudreau and Suzanne St.Onge both of North Port, FL., 16 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, 2 greatgreatgrandchildren. One brother Rev. Roland Montplaisir of Pompano Beach, FL. several nieces and nephews.
He loved Cribbage, Shuffleboard,running in road races, horseshoes, running track.
SERIVCES: Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.,,
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by his brother Rev. Roland Montplaisir, Friday at 10 AM in Ste. Marie Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Ste Marie Parish, Building Fund. 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester, NH 03102.
