Obituary








Helena G. “ Helen” Homer of Stoughton, formerly of Everett and Arlington passed away on Friday June 15, 2007 after an extended illness at The BayPointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Brockton. She was 99 years old.

Born December 8, 1907 in Everett, Massachusetts she was the beloved daughter of the late Noah G. and Olivia (Pike) Homer.

She attended Everett Public Schools and was a graduate of Arlington High School. She attained both her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Teaching and Arts and Crafts from Columbia University’s Teaching College in New York City.

Miss Homer was a member and attended The First Baptist Church in Arlington, Massachusetts.

She enjoyed Gardening, especially planting Tomatoes and Spices, Arts and Crafts and had a special interest in Pottery. She also participated in Pottery classes while at Harvard University and Radcliffe University. She was fortunate enough to produce her own pottery pieces while at home.

Miss Homer is survived by her nephew Robert N. Homer and his wife Rita of Stoughton, her two nieces, Bonnie Fitch and her husband William F. of Waxahachie, Texas and Fern Good and her husband John of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. She is also survived by her sister – in- law Lida “Lee” Homer of Summerfield, Florida.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 20, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. in The Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. The Reverend John Baillie officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours have been omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of one’s choice in Helen’s memory, would be appreciated.
