Margaret E. (Coakley) Fougere, of Malden, formerly of Medford, died Saturday at home in the company of her loving family. She was 82.
Born in Malden and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Ella (Sheehan) Coakley. Margaret was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the company of family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a dedicated parishioner at the Immaculate Conception Church and was also active at Saint Joseph in Medford were she and her family lived, before coming to Malden 25 years ago.
She was the beloved wife of Claude Fougere with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Richard Fougere and his wife Susan of Arlington, Maryellen Beasley of North Andover, Claudia DeSantis and her husband Richard of Malden, Kenneth Fougere and his wife Stephanie of Avon, Margaret Moran and her husband Robert of Malden, William Fougere of Medford, Joanne Atkinson and her husband Richard of Wilmington. She was a loving grandmother to Gregory, Tommy, Jessica, Brian, Michael, Rebecca, Michael, Jason, Kim and great-grandmother to Marissa, Christopher, Brian and Ashley. She was a dear sister to John Coakley and Bernadette Toth, both of Ohio, William Coakley of FL, Pauline Wellington of Malden the late Miriam Stagliano and Mitzie Coleman.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 19th, in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Monday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
