Frederick Wallace Moore, of Stoughton, formerly of Hyde Park and South Boston, passed away at home, after an extended illness, on Saturday June 16, 2007. He was 73 years old. He was the beloved husband for fifty- three years to Marie F. (Ceurvels).
Born September 13, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts Mr. Moore was the son of the late Thomas and Ellen (Keough) Moore. He attended Boston Public Schools.
Mr. Moore was a retired Corporal with the United States Arny. He was proud to serve his country during The Korean War Era. While in the Armed Forces, Mr. Moore became a Program Specialist and worked on various military related projects. He attended and was a graduate of both the Drill Sergeant School and the Army Ranger School. He was also the proud recipient of two Bronze Stars.
After retiring from active duty, Mr. Moore was employed as a Roadman by The Boston Herald Newspaper Company, retiring in 1979.
Mr. Moore was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed travelling very much. He had attended and was a communicant of St. James Church in Stoughton.
Besides his wife, Mr. Moore is survived by his children, Christopher W. Moore and his wife Leann of Stoughton, James M. Moore and his wife Lisa of Stoughton, Tami A. Theobald of Stoughton, Catherine R. Lekberg and her husband Chris of Brandon, Vermont and Judi A. Lloyd and her husband Scott of Stoughton. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday June 19, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. from The Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Followed by a mass of Christian burial for the repose of his soul at 10:30 A.M. in St. James Church, 542 Page Street, Stoughton. Fr. Joseph Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday June 18, 2007 from 5 - 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
