Mrs. Faye Ward Simpson age 74, of Water Valley, MS, died in the Yalobusha County Nursing Home on Friday, June 15, 2007 following a lenghty illness. Faye was the widow of Charles Simpson, who preceded her in death in October of 2005, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Water Valley. She was a sales clerk at Turnage Drug Store for 30 years and always greeted customers with a warm smile.
The family will receive friends at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, June 18, 2007. Funeral services will be held in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks on Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM with Dr. Billy Stonestreet and Brother Barry Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband. Serving as pallbearers are; Bartes Guarr, Gordon Simpson, Chad Wrenn, Gary Williamson, Hank Riddick and Tom Byars. Bennie Turnage will serve as an Honorary pallbearer.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Dena Simpson Windham and her husband Ronnie of Oxford, MS; two grandsons, Brett King of Starkville, MS and Craig and Audrey King of Water Valley,Ms; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Chase and Marley King; two brothers Ralph Ward of Greenville, NC and Mickey Ward of Wilmington, NC.
In addition to her husband, Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Lula Pigg Ward and one brother, Earnest Ward.
