Obituary

William H. “Trigger” Burke, 83, of Salem, NH died Thursday at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown, NH. He had lived in Salem for 44 years and had previously lived in Methuen, MA.

Bill served his country in the US Army during WW II and earned a purple heart during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a retired mailman for the City of Methuen. He was a life member of the VFW Post # 8546 of Salem, NH, and a member of the American Legion.

Bill enjoyed playing pool, playing horseshoes and going to the Rockingham Race Track. He liked going to the beach and going to the movies.

Bill was predeceased by his parents Edna Mae (Keighley) and George Washington Burke, his daughter Paula Burke and his brother Raymond Burke.

Wife of 56 years: Ruth May (Lumb) Burke of Salem, NH

Son: Stephen W. Burke, Sr. of Londonderry, NH

Daughters: Audrey & her husband Brian Stanley of Goffstown, NH
Cynthia Matson of Goffstown, NH
Janice & her husband Michael Farmer of Derry, NH

15 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren

Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A Funeral Service will be Monday at 11AM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
