Mack Warren Shiver, 96, of Lakeland, Florida, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2007, at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Funeral services in Lakeland, Florida will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2007, in the Northside Chapel of Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home in Lakeland, Florida. The family will receive friends in the Northside Chapel of Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home in Lakeland, Florida from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2007, just prior to the service.
Mr. Shiver was born on October 19, 1910 in Ty Ty and was the son of James Flemon Mercer Shiver and Elvia Belle Whitfield Shiver, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Odie Branch Shiver, who died in 1997. He moved to Lakeland, Florida from Tifton in 1952 and was a retired baker for Buttercrust Bakeries in Lakeland, Florida, retiring after 23 years. He was a member of Kathleen Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida.
Mr. Shiver is survived by three sons, Kenneth Shiver of Lakeland, Florida, James Shiver of Lakeland, Florida, and Bob Shiver of Lakeland, Florida; one daughter, Kay Rogers of Atlanta; one sister, Ruby Harrod of Lakeland, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
