Obituary

Maurice "Red" Levy, 93, a longtime resident of Revere entered into eternal rest on June 14, 2007 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of the late Sylvia (Rubenstein) Levy who passed away in 1994.

Born in Revere, the son of the late Abraham & Leah Levy, "Red" was raised & educated in Revere, graduating from Revere High School. He was employed as a millwright & during his career worked at the Charlestown Naval Yard, Bethlehem Steel Co., Monroe Shipyard, & U.S. Gypsum from which he retired in 1976. He was a member of the Teamsters Union for many years. "Red" enjoyed needlepoint, music of Broadway shows, & the Atlanta Braves. His true love was spending time with his family.

"Red" is survived by his daughter, Marlene Davis & her husband Sidney; his son, David Levy & his wife Barbara; his grandchildren, Lynne Weinstein, Susan Costa, Risa Sablone, & Jennifer Fitzpatrick; & six great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Gertie Forman, Pauline Sugerman & her husband Joe, & the late Herman, George, Golda, Etta, Dinah, & Sadie.

Graveside funeral services will be private. Those wishing to remember "Red" may do so through memorial donations to Hebrew Senior Life, 1200 Centre St, Roslindale, MA 02131.
