DRACUT—Anne A. (Duggan) (Smith) Crowley, 79 years old, died Sunday evening at her home after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of David F. Crowley, Sr., who survives her, and was the wife of the late Clifford F. Smith, who died in 1957.
She was born in Lowell, on March 6, 1923, a daughter of the late Francis P. and Helen (Lynch) Duggan. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grammar School and Lowell High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.
Mrs. Crowley was a longtime resident of Dracut, and had been employed for many years in the Legal and Accounting office of John J. Hurley, Company.
She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Dracut and held membership in the League of Catholic Women, St. Theresa’s Rainbow Club, of Methuen and Dracut Arts & Crafts. She engaged in line dancing and crafts.
Surviving her are two sons: Michael P. Smith, of Milford; and David F. Crowley, Jr., of Boston; a granddaughter: Alison and her husband Patrick MacDonald, of Somerville; a grandson: Jared Smith, of Woburn; a sister: Helen T. Kirane, of Lowell; a brother and sister-in-law: Joseph T. and Alice Duggan, of Indian River Shores, FL; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: John and Aurora Crowley, of Methuen; and Josephine Duggan, of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late: Francis P. Duggan and Mary R. Fells and the sister-in-law of the late: William Fells, Joseph Kirane and Katherine Andrews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 27th, from 2 until 8 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass will be offered Friday, November 29th, at 10 AM at ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH, Dracut. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. Donations in her memory may be made to Saints Memorial Medical Center Foundation, Cancer Center; P.O.
