Doris (Threlfall) Medeiros, 76, of New Bedford died June 12, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was the wife of musician trumpet player Stephen Medeiros.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice A. (Millette) Threlfall, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Medeiros was a communicant of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church.
She was formerly employed as a teller at Southern Mass Credit Union for many years until retirement.
Mrs. Medeiros enjoyed dancing to her husbands music, trips to Foxwoods and New Hampshire and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Wayne Cadieux, and his wife Sandra, of Dartmouth; a daughter, Sharon A. Azevedo, and her husband Antonio, of New Bedford; a step-son, Stephen Medeiros, and his wife Davida, of Florida; a step-daughter, Joyce Martins, and her husband James, of St. Michaels, Azores; a sister-in-law, Hilda Mancebo, and her husband Tony, of California; 6 grandchildren, Heather Delaney, Michelle Souza, Amy Bryant, Lori Cadieux, Becky Cadieux and Marc Cadieux; a great-grandson, Evan Souza; 6 step-grandchildren.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Friday, June 15th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, June 14th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
