Obituary

Mrs. Virginia(Sears) Souliotis, 78, passed away Monday June 11th at Lowell General Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born June 29, 1928 in Reading, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Frederick and Lenetta Sears.

Mrs. Souliotis was educated through the Reading Schools. She worked for over 25 years as a stitcher at Kopley Shoe Co. in Wakefield, Ma. There she met her husband of fifty-one years the late Louis Souliotis whom she married in 1948.

Mrs. Souliotis most recently had been employed at Umass- Lowell in the cafeteria until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Assumption of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Dracut and the former president of the church’s Ladies Philoptochos Society.

She is survived by a son, Eric “Butch” Souliotis of Homosassa, Florida; two daughters, Mary Krall and her husband Tony of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvannia, Helen Bean and her husband Glenn of Londonderry, N.H.; a brother, Philip Sears of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Carrie Anne Krall of Wisconsin, Eryk Bean and Jenna Bean of Londonderry, N.H., Katrina Clegg and Matthew Clegg of Lowell.

She was the mother to the late Matthew Souliotis.

Friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 9am from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at the Assumption of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of Dracut at 10a.m. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery , Lowell. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Assumption of Virgin Mary Church Fund 1160 Mammouth Rd. Dracut, Ma. 01826.
