GROTON-Ada E. (Allard) Moyer Crane, age 105, of 322 Shennnecossett Road, died Saturday at Fairview Odd Fellows Home in Groton.
Mrs. Crane was born on September 4, 1897 in Hampstead, NH the daughter of Alfred and Harriet Shaw Allard. She was raised in Massachusetts and was a graduate of Saugus High School.
Prior to her marriages, Mrs. Crane worked as a head waitress in hotels in Atlantic City and the Griswold Hotel.
On September 11, 1921 she married Louis Moyer, who died on January 20, 1960. Mrs. Crane later married Harold A. Crane on October 10, 1972. Mr. Crane died on January 11, 1990.
Mrs. Crane was an active member of The Groton Bible Chapel, a member of the Groton Senior Citizens Center, the Women of the Moose #589 in New London and the Rebekah Lodge # 56 I.O.O.F. in Mystic.
In addition to her husbands and parents she was predeceased by her son Roger L. Moyer, her brother Walter Allard and her sister Jessie Ordway. She is survived by her son Robert A. Moyer, her daughter Helen Rice, her sister Doris Spurr and her brother Elmer Allard, along with 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A committal service will be held on Saturday, November 30, at 10:00 AM at the Elm Grove Cemetery, Route 27 Mystic.
