Obituary


North Easton/Worcester—Richard W. Girard, Sr., 95, formerly of Whitmarsh Ave., Worcester, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, in the Life Care Center, W. Bridgewater. His wife of 64 years, Jean M. (Zabelski) Girard, died in 1998. He leaves a son Richard W. Girard, Jr., and his wife Joan of Worcester; a daughter, Carol A. Harmon and her husband William of North Easton; a brother, Robert Girard; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother, Bertram Girard predeceased him. He was born in Franklin, NH, son of Walter and Bertha (Richard) Girard. He was an abrasive’s worker at Norton Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, National Rifle Assn, Greendale Retired Men’s Club, and the Singletary Rod & Gun Club. He was a life member of the Norton Sportsmen’s Club and the Leominster Sportsmen’s Club.

After cremation, burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ipswich. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. NORDGREN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester is directing arrangements. For on-line condolences, please click below.
