Eleanor Porter formerly of 97 Middle St. North Kingston, RI died Sunday in Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Forrest I. Porter. Mrs. Porter was born in Providence a daughter of the late William “Jack” and Eleanor (McBride) Place. She was a secretary for the North Kingstown School Dept. for twenty years before retiring in 2000.
Mrs. Porter is survived by two sons James E. Porter of Cumberland, R.I., and Steven J. Porter of Indianapolis, IN., two daughters Susan M. Porter of Exeter, R.I., and Jane A. Cotham of Warwick, R.I., three brothers Donald Place of Providence, R.I., Clement Place of Coventry, R.I., and Vincent Place of Littleton, N.H., two sisters Eileen DeBiasio and Kathleen Brown both of Middletown, CT., nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Shirley Paquin and Marie Tymon.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 am. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Cranston. In lieu of flowers donations to Camp Ker-Anna, 500 Reservoir Rd. Cumberland RI, 02895 in her memory would be appreciated.
