Linda P. Hilton, 59, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, June 9 at the Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 11, at Arbor Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge and Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Hilton was born June 24, 1947, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Homer Lee and Thelma Newsome Phillips. She lived in the community all of her life. Ms. Hilton was a 1965 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and was an outstanding member of her class. A recent cruise taken by members of the class in honor of their respective 60th birthdays was dedicated to Linda. She attended Southwestern Technical College in Americus and worked as a business office clerk for 41 years at Dorminy Medical Center and the former Ben Hill County Hospital. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and taught mission friends.
Ms. Hilton is survived by her son: Tracy S. Hilton of Fitzgerald; a brother: James “Jimmy” Phillips of Fitzgerald; and many special friends and relatives including three aunts: Etta Mae Collins of Tifton, Dorothy Veal of Warner Robins, and Catherine Nelson of Macon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Jean Geiger.
