Kathleen A. Harwood, 58

Dateline: Attleboro, MA

Kathleen A. (VanLeeuwen) Harwood, 58, of Attleboro died on Saturday June 9, 2007 at the Epoch Senior Health Care Center in Norton. She was the wife of Albert L. Harwood.
Born in Norwood, MA on September 21, 1948 she was a loving daughter of Eleanor M. (Stewart) VanLeeuwen of Wrentham and the late James R. VanLeeuwen, Sr.
She grew up in Franklin and was educated in Franklin schools. She was a 1966 graduate of Franklin High School and had also attended Dean Junior College in Franklin.
Mrs. Harwood was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed raising her devoted children. She had also assisted her husband in the operation of their family trucking company.
Kathleen had attended the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. She was an avid reader, an expert in needlework and treasured the times spent with her family. Her family will always remember the love and care she showed to animals, especially her cat Mew. She had made her home in Attleboro for the past 35 years and was formerly of Franklin.
In additional to her husband and loving mother Kathleen is survived by her devoted children; James R. Harwood of Attleboro, Albert L. Harwood, II of Brewster, Henry Harwood and Lawrence L. Harwood both of Waterville, Maine, Jason M. Harwood of Wrentham, twins; Danika Harwood of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Rachael Harwood of Wrentham and the late Margaret H. Eldredge. Her dear brother and sisters; James R. VanLeeuwen, Jr. of San Diego, California, Eileen M. Lozzi of Franklin, Patricia J. LaChapelle of Daytona Beach, Florida and Judith M. Mutchler of Taunton. Her cherished grandchildren; Kayleigh Anne, T.J., Kristin, Shana, Lauren, Larry, Henry, Hunter, Ashley, Brian, Tyler, Thomas, Bryanna, Alyssa, Matt, Miranda and Kayleigh May. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday June 14th at 6:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
Visiting hours have been omitted and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Kathleen’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Attleboro Friends of Cats, Inc. P.O. Box 283 Attleboro, MA 02703.
