Jack "Tim" Henderson of Moultrie died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Moultrie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. James Johnson will officiate with burial to follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Eldorado. Pallbearers will be Joshua Sanders, Earnie Blackburn, James Blackburn, T. J. Henderson, Chris Henderson and Sid Dupree. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 7, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Henderson was born on June 22, 1922 in Colquitt County and was the son of Elmer Henderson and Della Murphy Henderson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lottie Billings Henderson; one son, John Timothy Henderson; three brothers, Claude Henderson, Floyd Henderson and Pete Henderson; and two sisters, Birde Holden and Sue Bemus. He was a retired research technician with the Coastal Plains Experiment Station and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife, Bessie Taylor McCook Henderson of Moultrie; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Wilda Henderson of Tifton; one daughter, Mary Ann Henderson of Moultrie; three step-sons, Ralph McCook of Augusta, Curtis McCook of Waynesboro, and Wendell McCook and his wife, Laura, of Augusta; two step-daughters, Caroline Tawzer of Augusta, and Annette Hogan and her husband, Richard, of Golden, Mississippi; one brother, Ottis Henderson of Norman Park; one sister, Ethel Blackburn of Moultrie; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
