NEW BEDFORD … Roger M. Cabral, 66, New Bedford died at St. Luke’s Hospital on Monday, June 4, 2007 after a brief illness.
He was the companion and best friend of Susan (Barcellos) Gonsalves of Acushnet, MA.
He was the former husband of Cynthia (Lussier) Champagne of Rochester.
He was born in Dartmouth, the son of the late Joaquim and Mary (Perry) Cabral and had lived most of his life in New Bedford.
He was employed as a supervisor at Goodyear Tire & Rubber and Plymouth Rubber until his retirement in 1993.
Mr. Cabral enjoyed gardening, woodworking, reading, motorcycles, bible study, and spending time with his family, especially his 3 grandchildren.
Survivors include his companion Susan Gonsalves, former wife Cynthia Champagne, 2 sons: Roger A. Cabral of Acushnet, and Gary S. Cabral of New Bedford, a daughter: Pamela L. Elias of New Bedford, a brother: John Cabral of Tiverton, R.I., 2 Sisters: Lillian Brodeur and Jacqueline Galligo both of Dartmouth, 3 grandchildren: Matthew L. Cabral, Ethan G. Machado and Lucas T. Cabral. He was the brother of the late Natalie Warner and the late Doris Marchand.
Calling hours to which relative and friends are invited will be held Friday 9:30 – 11AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home, 495 Park St New Bedford, MA.
