Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8pm. Donations in Blanche’s name may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101 First Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.

Blanche E. (Parenteau) Cushing, 89 years, died peacefully in her sleep Monday morning at the Brockton Hospital. Born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Maglorie “Joe” and Lucy (Lessard) Parenteau, she was a graduate of Brockton High School and had been a lifelong resident. For over 20 years she had been employed at Avon Dry Cleaners. She enjoyed crocheting Afghans and making dolls, many of which she donated to the bazaars at St. Edward’s Church. She was a long time communicant of St. Edward’s Church, loved to travel and will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
She is survived by one son David J. Cushing (Ret BFD) and his fiancée Cyndi Sinesi of Brockton, one daughter Cathy C. Caverly and her husband Dick of Ormond Beach, FL, formerly of Stoughton, one sister Pauline Hunter of Brockton, and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late James J. Cushing; and sister of the late Victoria Bernard, Leona O’Brien, Claudia Schroter, Mabel Dodero, Alice Parenteau, Joseph, Frank, Henry, Albert Parenteau and an infant Henry Parenteau.
