Obituary

Maurice F. “Murry” Capurso, of Medford, died Saturday at the Massachusetts General Hospital, He was 75.

Mr. Capurso was born and raised in Worcester, the son of the late Sergio and the late Antonietta (Rigante) Capurso. Murry served in the Navy during the Korean War. A skilled cabinet maker before the war, Murry became a glass blower because of a service injury. He worked making specialized scientific glass instruments with I –Teck. Much of his work was committed to the developing space program in the 1960’s and 70’s.

He was the beloved husband of Josephine (Tringale) Capurso. He was a devoted father to Francine Skiffington and her husband Robert of New Hampshire and to Antonette Capurso of Malden. He was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was the dear brother of Vincent Capurso.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Medford, with the Rev. Joseph Foster celebrant. Burial follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
