Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday at 11am. Visitation prior to service 10-11am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Ervin W. “Windy” Cameron, 75 years, died Sunday at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a period of failing health. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Marie A. (Kleinschmidt) Cameron. Windy was an Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. He had been employed by Brophy and Phillips Construction Company for over 25 years. Prior to Brophy and Phillips he had been a union laborer for Laborers Union Local #721. He enjoyed cribbage, bocce, playing cards, country and western music and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by one son William Welch, of Brockton, Joanne Bourne-Woolford of Middleboro, Rosemary Smith-Miranda of Anaheim, CA, Karen Marshall-Smith of Brockton, Debra DiGirolamo of Brockton and Sharon Wasserman of Needham; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Mary (Cannizzaro) Cameron and brother of the late Dorothy (Proudy) Johnson, Charlotte Cameron and Warren Cameron.
