Obituary

AUBURN___Oscar H. Marcoux, 89, formerly of The Woods at Eddy Pond and Charlton died Tuesday May 29 in The Meadows of Leicester. His wife of 60 years, Loretta D. (Roy) Marcoux died in 2001.

He leaves a son, Richard Marcoux and his wife Marcia of Charlton; a daughter, Joan Legere of Charlton; a sister, Cora Lewos of Coral Springs, Fl., seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Norman Marcoux. He was born and raised in Worcester, a son of Norry and Cora (Lorion) Marcoux and later lived in Charlton many years before moving to Auburn in 1997.

Mr. Marcoux was a gear cutter 20 years for Worcester Gear Co. and retired in 1980. Before then he worked for the Reed Prentice Co. He was a graduate of Commerce High School, Worcester and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Charlton. Oscar enjoyed gardening, fishing and loved sports especially the Red Soxs and Patriots.

The funeral will be held on Saturday June 2 with a service at 10:30 a.m. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 2 in the funeral home.
