DRACUT - Everett E. Connell, 85, a longtime Dracut resident, died Tuesday May 29th at his home. He was the husband of the late Genevieve M. (Ociepka) Connell who died on May 5, 2007.
He was born in Westford on July 7, 1921, and was the son of the late Eugene and Emily ( Hartley) Connell. He received his education in Westford schools.
Mr. Connell served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as a molder by the Concord Foundry. Previous to that he had been employed Graniteville Foundry in Westford and the Lowell Iron Foundry. Earlier in life he was employed as a roving boy by Abbott Mills in Forge Village, Westford.
He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
He was a member of St. Casimir Church in Lowell.
He is survived by two sons James Connell Sr. and his wife Lynda Connell, and John Connell and his wife Debra, all of Dracut; a daughter Judy Jarbeau and her husband James, of Dracut; eight grandchildren Tracy Keraghan of Nashua, NH, Kelly Keraghan of Dracut, Dennis Keraghan of Nashua, NH, Jennifer Connell, Brian Connell and James Connell Jr., all of Dracut, Michael Connell of Lowell, and Jenny Lynn Wegner of WI; three great grandchildren Serena Silva, Mia Silva, and Alec Silva, all of Nashua, NH; a brother George "Bucky" Connell and his wife Fran of Westford; a sister Alice McGuane of Tyngsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Linda (Connell) Wegner and the brother of the late Raymond Connell and the late Robert Connell.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 12 Noon at the funeral home.
