Peabody: Maurice E. Bouchard age 80 of Peabody and a former resident of Salem, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Tina (Stratis) Bouchard, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Aristide J. and Marie L. (Harvey) Bouchard. He was a veteran of World War II and served stateside with the Army. Following his tour of duty, he returned to Salem and was employed as a supervisor for Sylvania. Maurice left Sylvania to change his career and become a carpenter, a trade he was always partial to. He never quite retired, and was kept active with work for family and friends. Maurice enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he was also an avid reader. He was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem and was currently attending Ste. Anne Church in Salem.
In addition to his wife Tina, he is survived by a son, Michael E. Bouchard and his wife Stephanie of Moultonborough, NH, 2 daughters: Kathleen Bouchard of Salem and Jacqueline DeFrancesco and her husband John of Peabody, a son-in-law John Harris of Topsfield, 2 sisters: Jacqueline Cianferani and her husband Chuck of Quincy, Cecile Moreau and her husband Robert of Peabody, 12 grandchildren: Michael, Stephani & Damian Bouchard, Lisa, Jim & Kelly McSweeney, Jeffrey, Justin, Jillian & Jeena DeFrancesco, Christine & Kaitlin Harris. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Marie Harris and his brother George L. Bouchard.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 9 am in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of MA, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are by the Levesque Funeral Home of Salem.
