Obituary

North Andover, MA – Stephen A. Hay, 59, died unexpectedly at his residence on May 28, 2007.

Born in Waterville, Maine July 21, 1947 he was the son of Robert and Eleanor (Preble) Hay A 50 year resident of North Andover he graduated from North Andover High School in 1965. Stephen earned a BS in Education from Lyndon State College in Vermont.

Mr. Hay taught mathematics at the Woodbury Junior High School in Salem, NH for 35 years before his retirement in 2005. Stephen also taught at Middlesex Community College in Lowell. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and had a genuine love of animals.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 37 years Carol A. (Soucy) Hay, and children Jeremy & wife Kelly of Andover, Julie & husband Oliver Kimball of Methuen, and Andrew of Brookline, his mother Eleanor Hay of North Andover, brother R. Michael & his wife Mary Hay of Methuen, sister Cynthia & husband Steven Donovan of Townsend, MA, 2 grandchildren Alexander and Isaac Hay of Andover and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Robert Hay and brother Christopher Hay.

A funeral mass will take place on Friday morning at 10:30 A.M. in Saint Michaels Church in North Andover.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
