Mary E. (Daly) Wrenn a resident of Charlestown for over 75 years,who celebrated her 100th birthday on May 20, 2007 died on Friday May 25, 2007 at her home in Charlestown after a lenghty illness.
Mary was born in County Cork, Ireland on May 20, 1907. She grew up in Cork, Ireland for several years and moved to the Boston area at the age of 15. She has lived most of her life in the United States in Charlestown. Mary worked for several years at Fenway Park in Boston and has been a dedicated Red Sox fan for many years. Mary has been a loving and dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren, always there with a story and a laugh.
Mary is the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Wrenn. She is the devoted mother of Barbara Marsden, Mary Ellen Howell, John J. Wrenn and his wife Linda all of Charlestown, Nancy Steen and her husband Joe of Wilmington, Daniel Wrenn and his wife Cindy of Malden and the late Joseph and Carol Wrenn. She is the loving grandmother of 32 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of the late William, John and Richard Daly.
Mary's Funeral will be held on Thursday May 31, 2007 at 9 a.m. from the Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Mary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 29 and May 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at Cambridge Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge.
