Obituary

Mrs. Eleanor Marion (Piccolo) Bonfilio, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Joseph Bonfilio, died at the Harborside Health Care Center in Wakefield on May 24, 2007. She was 91 years old.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on October 28, 1915, she was a beloved daughter of the late Ernest and Florence (Piccolo) Piccolo. Mrs. Bonfilio was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1932 and a graduate of the Catherine Gibbs School in Boston, class of 1935. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Medford and the proprietor of the Paint Box in Medford Square for more than 30 years. Mrs. Bonfilio was an avid golfer, skier and swimmer. She was also an accomplished pianist and artist, specializing in landscape canvas. She was a long time member of the Zonta Club and spent many winters in Del Ray Beach, Florida.
She will be sorely missed by her three loving son’s and two daughter’s-in-law; Edward J. and his wife Claire L. Bonfilio of Brookline, James E. and his wife Delores Bonfilio of Winchester and Ronald J. Bonfilio of Washington, D.C., six beloved grandchildren; James, Anthony, Lisa, Diana, Andrew and Brianna, six cherished great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Virginia Ramuglia.
Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours were Tuesday, May 29, 2007, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
