GLOUCESTER: Lena (Regnetta) Ciaramitaro, 85, of Pleasant Street, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Leo V. “Flounder” Ciaramitaro who died in August of 2001.
Born in Gloucester on October 29, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Girlomo and Grazia (Taormina) Regnetta. She had moved to Boston’s North End at age three, where she attended Boston public schools and resided for many years before returning to Gloucester in 1946. She was also an avid Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Roseann Dodge, two sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent “Jimmy” and Diana (Paris) Ciaramitaro and Jerome “Jerry” and Mary (Schmidt) Ciaramitaro all of Gloucester, a grandson, Lenny Ciaramitaro of Gloucester, a great-granddaughter, Carina Ciaramitaro of Woodridge, NY, a sister, Grace D’Amore, three brothers and a sister-in-law, Philip and Aurora Rugnetta, Sammy Regnetta and Pat Regnetta all of Boston and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Nicole L. Ciaramitaro, a son-in-law, Jack Dodge, a brother, Joseph Regnetta, a sister, Rita Regnetta and two sisters-in-law, Helen Regnetta and Sally Regnetta.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church, Gloucester at 11 A.M. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 4 – 8 p.m. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
