George Hinks, 61, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, May 25 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, May 28, at Big Creek Baptist Church, in Irwin County, with Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Hinks was born January 24, 1946, in Irwin County, to the late George Mathew and Verlie Owens Hinks. He lived in Ben Hill and Irwin County most of his life and was a former resident of Bel-Air, Maryland, where he worked as a mechanic for Hartford Sanitation. Mr. Hinks was a former employee for the city of Fitzgerald. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law, Patricia & Samuel Loredo, Karen & Robert Peterson and Lamanda Hinks, all of Winter Haven, FL; sons & daughter-in-law, Robert Hinks and Daniel & April Hinks, all of Bartow, FL; 13 grandchildren; sister and brother, Alice Clemons and James Hinks, both of Fitzgerald.
