Obituary

LOWELL—Francis B. ‘Frank’ Lezotte, 68 years old, a resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died early Thursday morning, May 24th, at the D’Youville Senior Care. He was the husband of Edna M. (Welsh) Lezotte, with whom he would have celebrated 46 years of marriage next month.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 14, 1938, a son of the late Francis B. and Geraldine (Elliffe) Lezotte. He was a graduate of Drexel Institute of Technology, in Philadelphia, and George Washington University, in Washington, DC.

Mr. Lezotte began his career as an Electrical Engineer with a start-up company called Intertel, in Burlington. Laser he served as Vice President of Teleglobe, in Montreal and Ottawa. One of his proudest accomplishments was working on the Gemini Space Program monitoring the telemetry systems for the astronauts. According to friends, he always had an interesting story to share.

He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed tennis, music, especially opera traveling with his wife and fixing broken machinery.

Surviving him besides his wife are a son: Francis ‘Fran’ Lezotte, and Kasha J. Leighton, of Lowell; two granddaughters: Fiona and Deliana Lezotte; a brother: James Lezotte; a sister: Ann Marie Kerrigan., both of Philadelphia; a niece: Linda Burns; two nephews: Daniel and Thomas Kerrigan; also several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, May 28th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. His Funeral Mass to be offered on Tuesday, May 29th, at 11 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in the Lowell Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute; 10 Brookline Place West; 6th Floor; Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
