Vincenzo Bassi, age 65 of Medford, died Tuesday in the Brigham And Women's Hospital of Boston after a brief illness.Born in Italy, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Giuseppina (DiPietro) Bassi.
He was a Medford resident for thirty-three years. Mr. Bassi was a retired mason and had practiced that craft since he was a young man. He retired thirteen years ago and was a member of Boston´s Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen Union Local 3. Mr. Bassi loved spending time with family and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Giuseppina (Colasante) Bassi of Medford, Two sons, Joe and his wife Annette of Lynnfield, John and his wife Amy of Medford. Loving grandfather of Daniela, Joey, Laura, and Christian. Brother of Teresa Mattioli, Maria DiRienzo both of Canada, Concetta Bassi of Italy and the late Antonio Bassi. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 10. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 9. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
