Obituary

WORCESTER__ Stella Balsavich, 86, formerly of 92 Perry Avenue, died on Tuesday, May 22, in St. Mary Health Care, 39 Queen Street, Worcester.

She leaves two brothers, Leo Balcewicz and his wife Eileen and Adam Balcewicz and his wife Frances, all of Worcester; four nephews, six nieces and many grand nephews and grand nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bronislaw Balcewicz and George Balcewicz and three sisters, Nellie Donnell Shea, Edna Foster and Rose Arnberg. Stella was born in Worcester, a daughter of George and Valeria (Valentavichius) Balsevichius and lived here all her life.

Miss Balsavich was a stitcher and assembler working for Davies Handbag Co. retiring in 1985. Previously, she worked at Washburn Co., Pressed Steel Co. in 1958, Raytheon Watch Co. in 1955 and Wright Wire Co. in 1944. She graduated from Worcester Girl’s Trade High School. Stella was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.

The funeral will be held on Saturday May 26, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Saturday May 26 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester, MA, 01610.
