John P. Griffiths 52 years died Wednesday morning at his home in Randolph after a lengthy illness. He was born in Dorchester a son of the late Harry P. and Rita (Hoar) Griffiths. At the age of ten he moved to Braintree. He was a 1973 graduate of Braintree High School and also graduated from Catherine Laboure School of Nursing. He had been a technician for Gambro Health and Brockton Dialysis Center.
John had been the owner of Griff’s Pizza and Subs on Montello Street. He also owned Dairy Twist of New England and Griff’s Sweet Treats also in Brockton.
John had served in the US Army and was a collector of Asian art.
He is survived by a son David J. Griffiths of Holbrook and four brothers and one sister Paul Griffiths of Ohio; William Griffiths of Florida; Robert Griffiths of South Easton; Gary Griffiths of Washington State and Gail Cash of Middleboro.
He also leaves an uncle Roy Bates of Braintree and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Wayne Griffiths.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street Brockton, on Saturday May 26 10 am to 1pm.
