Shawn Lyons, 66, of Mansfield died on Tuesday May 22, 2007 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, MA. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Reuter) Lyons to whom he was wed to on December 8, 1984.
Born in Brockton, MA on December 21, 1940 he was a loving son of the late Austin and Mary (Dineen) Lyons.
He grew up in Brockton and was educated in Brockton schools. He was a 1958 graduate of Brockton High School and was also a 1967 graduate of Northeastern University.
Mr. Lyons was a retired Senior Auditor having worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 11 years prior to his retirement in 2006. He had formerly been employed as an Assistant Vice President at the former Morse Shoe Co. in Canton for 30 years.
An avid tennis player, Shawn was a member of the Easton Tennis Club. He loved all sports in general and was also an ardent Celtics fan in there better years. He enjoyed gardening, traveling but most of all the times spent with his family.
Mr. Lyons had made his home in Mansfield for the past 23 years and was formerly of Easton and Brockton.
In addition to his beloved wife of over 22 years he is survived by his devoted children; Shawn E. Lyons and his wife Hideko of Hong Kong and Andrea C. Greco and her husband Raymond of Mansfield. His dear brother and sister; Austin R. Lyons of East Bridgewater and Kathleen A. Sirois of Brockton. His cherished granddaughters; Samantha J. Greco and Rebecca A. Greco both of Mansfield. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prayer services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday May 26th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 25th from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
